At Swotly, our mission is to empower parents to play a more active role in their children’s education.
Whilst educators will recognise the value of positive parental engagement, we thought it was a good idea to refresh our memories about why it matters and how Swotly can help.
According to UK charity Parentkind, the positive effects of parental engagement in education include:
Better behaviour
More confidence and greater self esteem
Higher attendance rates
A lower risk of exclusion
More enthusiasm about learning
Better results
If you add to that the evidence gathered by the Education Endowment Fund (EEF) which
“suggests that effective parental engagement can lead to learning gains of +3 months over the course of a year.”
it’s clear to see the benefits.
Swotly allows parents to ask questions like:
What lessons did Callum have today?
Does Anna have P.E. tomorrow?
What lessons does she have on Monday?
Does Caleb have any coursework?
What is he studying in English at the moment?
This helps parents to support their children to be fully prepared for the day ahead, chat with them about what they’re learning and stay informed about homework and coursework assignments.
Swotly links into systems you’re already using. Systems like your virtual learning environment (VLE) or Learning Management System (LMS). This makes it a low cost and time efficient option for schools.
